Built-in Appliance Repair — Removed and Refitted Without a Scratch

Why does built-in repair need a specialist?

1

A built-in appliance isn't just an appliance — it's part of a kitchen that cost real money. A technician who treats an integrated oven like an ordinary stove can ruin a marble counter worth more than the appliance itself, or a wood unit that will never look the same. That is why half of our built-in technicians' training is on removal and refitting itself: protective covers on the counter before any screwdriver, dedicated tools for integrated appliances, and position marking so the appliance returns millimeter-perfect.

2

Built-in faults are different too: most are electronic — control boards, touch panels, safety sensors, electronic thermostats — not traditional mechanics. And here is a trade secret that saves you thousands: in many cases the electronic board can be repaired at component level instead of replaced outright. A new board for a German oven can exceed EGP 5,000; repairing it costs a fraction of that.

3

The economics are different as well: for an appliance worth EGP 30,000-60,000, repair is almost always far cheaper than replacement — even with original imported parts. We stock parts for the common European brands (Bosch, Siemens, Ariston, Zanussi, Teka, Franke), and rare ones are ordered with a fixed arrival date — not open-ended promises.

Pro vs DIY

Built-in Specialist vs. a Technician Who Treats It Like Any Appliance

Built-ins don't get ruined by the fault — they get ruined by whoever tries to fix them without understanding that the kitchen itself is part of the job:

Removal from the counter
FixStove built-in specialist

Protective covers + dedicated tools + position marking before removal

Non-specialist technician

A screwdriver and a crowbar — the marble and wood take their chances

Electronic board diagnosis
FixStove built-in specialist

Component-level measurement — board repaired when possible instead of replaced

Non-specialist technician

"Board's dead, replace it whole" — thousands of pounds, no measurement

European brand spare parts
FixStove built-in specialist

Stocked for common brands; rare parts ordered with a fixed arrival date

Non-specialist technician

A "similar" part from the market — goodbye warranty and appliance life

Refitting the appliance
FixStove built-in specialist

Millimeter alignment and fixing + full operating test before leaving

Non-specialist technician

Back "roughly" in place — slightly tilted, door rubbing the wood

Warranty
FixStove built-in specialist

Written warranty on the repair and on the reinstallation itself

Non-specialist technician

If the counter chips — "it was like that before"

How it works

How we repair your built-in appliance in 4 steps

  1. 1

    Call and specify the appliance

Oven, hob, integrated hood? Which brand? So the right specialist arrives with the right tools and parts.

  2. 2

    Built-in specialist arrives

With dedicated removal/refit tools and protective covers — not just any technician, one trained on integrated appliances.

  3. 3

    Safe, free inspection

Diagnosis in place first. If removal is necessary: counter and cabinet protection, plus position marking before a single screw.

  4. 4

    Repair and precise refit

Repair at the agreed price, millimeter-perfect refit, full operating test, and a written warranty covering both repair and reinstallation.

Frequently asked about built-in service

Do you repair every built-in type?
Yes. Built-in oven (gas / electric / dual), built-in hob (gas / electric / ceramic / induction), full built-in stove, integrated hood, built-in microwave, and built-in dishwasher (if needed).
How much does built-in repair cost?
The inspection is free. Built-in service runs a bit higher than free-standing because removal and refitting are part of the work: most repairs start from around EGP 1,000-1,500, and replacing imported parts for European brands adds to that — an original part alone can run EGP 2,000-3,000 or more. Figures are approximate and depend on the appliance, its age and condition; the technician quotes the exact price before starting, with no obligation.
Will you remove the appliance? Will my kitchen get scratched?
We don't always remove it — the technician repairs in place first when possible. When removal is necessary, we follow a fixed protocol: protective covers on the counter and floor before any tool comes out, position and measurement marking before removal, dedicated built-in tools, then millimeter alignment and a full operating test after refitting. Protecting your kitchen is part of the job, not a courtesy — and it carries the same warranty as the repair.
Can the electronic board be repaired, or must it be replaced?
In many cases it can be repaired — and that saves real money. We measure the board at component level (relays, capacitors, voltage regulators); if the fault is in a replaceable component, we fix it for a fraction of the price of a new board, which can exceed EGP 5,000 on German brands. If the board truly cannot be saved, we say so honestly and supply the original replacement.
Are built-in spare parts original?
Since most built-ins are global brands, we supply both imported originals (longer lead time) and high-quality compatible alternatives from the same manufacturer family. The technician explains both and consults with you.
Is there a warranty on the repair?
3-month to 1-year warranty. Built-in warranties tend to be longer because repairs go deeper and parts are higher quality.
Do you install new built-ins?
Yes — we offer professional installation for new built-ins. Correct installation from day one prevents many later problems. See our installation page for details.
Do you repair Bosch, Siemens, and Miele?
Yes — these are among our most-serviced brands. We have technicians trained specifically on the German brands, which need particular expertise and tools.
My appliance is still under the dealer warranty — should I repair it with you?
If the dealer warranty is valid and the fault is covered — go to the dealer first; that's your right and it costs you nothing. We say this plainly even though it isn't in our interest. But if the warranty has expired, the fault isn't covered, or the dealer is quoting you weeks of waiting — then we are faster and cheaper, and you get our own written warranty on the repair.
How long does a built-in repair take?
In-place inspection: 15-20 minutes. Repair without removal: 30-60 minutes. With removal and refit: one to two hours including protection and alignment. Electronic board repairs sometimes take a day if the board needs workshop-level work — we take it and return it on a fixed date.
If the appliance is very old, is it worth repairing?
Built-in economics differ from ordinary appliances: for a unit worth EGP 30,000-60,000, repair — even with original imported parts — remains far cheaper than replacement. The rule: if repair costs less than 30-40% of a new equivalent, repair. The technician gives you an honest verdict after inspection, and if it is not worth it, we will tell you.
