Induction — the future of cooking

1

The induction hob is the newest and most advanced in the world of hobs. It works in a completely different way: it uses a magnetic field to heat the pot base directly, there is no actual heat in the hob itself, it is the fastest cooking type (water boils in a second), the most energy-efficient (90% efficiency), and very safe (no flame).

2

How it works: copper coils under the glass generate a magnetic field, the field passes through the glass to the pot, and the pot's magnetic base becomes a heater that heats itself. It needs magnetic pots only (magnetic stainless steel, cast iron).

3

The faults are highly specialized: the copper coils, pan-detection sensors, the complex electronic board, the internal cooling fan, and the touch screen and touch sensors. At FixStove, our induction team is specialized in precise electronics with advanced test tools.

Frequently asked about induction hob repair

Is induction safe for children?
The safest of all types. No flame, the surface does not heat (it only warms slightly from heat transferred by the pot), and the appliance stops instantly when the pot is lifted.
Does it need special pots?
Yes, pots with a magnetic base. A simple test: if a magnet sticks to the pot base, it works on induction.
What about electricity consumption?
The most efficient of all types — 90% of the electricity goes to the food (vs 50% in traditional electric). So it is more economical long-term.
Are parts available?
For widespread European brands (Bosch, Siemens) they are available. Rare premium brands sometimes need a quick import.
What about service cost?
More than other types due to the technology and electronics. But inspection is free and the technician explains the cost before starting.
What if the glass breaks?
The glass is replaced, along with the coils if affected by the break. The technician diagnoses whether the coils are intact or need replacing.
Is there a warranty on the repair?
Yes — a written warranty from 3 months to 1 year. The electronics we replace get a longer warranty.
Do you install new induction hobs?
Yes. Installation needs a strong dedicated power circuit (induction draws high power) and cutting an opening to precise dimensions. See the installation page for more details.
