In-Home Oven Repair — Temperature Accurate to the Degree

An oven that burns from below or won't brown on top doesn't need replacing — it needs a specialist. We repair every oven type (gas, electric, built-in) at home, same day, and before leaving we calibrate the temperature with an actual oven thermometer, not by feel. Free inspection and a written warranty up to one year.

Why does oven repair need a specialist?

1

A faulty oven isn't just a broken appliance — it's food burnt on one side and raw on the other, a dinner running late, and a gas or electricity bill creeping up for no clear reason. The cause: an oven runs at up to 250°C, and every sensitive component — thermostat, heating elements, door seal, fan — wears out over time.

2

"The oven won't heat" is one sentence hiding five completely different causes: a burner or heating element (top or bottom), the thermostat, a heat sensor, the ignition, or the control board. A general handyman solves it by trial — swapping part after part while you pay for each guess. A specialist measures: a multimeter on the elements, a test on the thermostat and sensor, then replaces only the part that is actually faulty. That is why our diagnosis is free and accurate from the first visit.

3

And before the technician leaves, two things always happen: he runs the oven and measures the real temperature with a calibration thermometer, adjusting the thermostat to within ±10 degrees — because the difference between 180° and 220° is the difference between a perfect cake and a burnt one. And he checks the door seal, because a worn seal leaks heat: slower cooking, higher bills, and a hot kitchen for nothing.

Oven Specialist vs. General Handyman — The Difference Is in the Details

Oven faults are deceptive: the same symptom ("it won't heat") hides five causes with very different price tags. The gap between measuring and guessing shows up in your wallet:

Diagnosing "oven won't heat"
FixStove specialist

Multimeter on the elements + thermostat and sensor tests — replaces only the faulty part

General handyman

Frequently asked questions about oven repair

Do you repair every type of oven?
Yes. We repair: gas ovens (traditional and advanced), electric ovens (every technology), built-in ovens (every size), dual ovens (gas + electric), convection ovens, multi-function ovens, and countertop minis.
How much does oven repair cost?
The in-home inspection is free. Most oven repairs start from around EGP 800-1,200 (cleaning and adjustment, door seal, bulb, hinges), while replacing major parts like an electric heating element or thermostat typically runs EGP 1,200-3,000 depending on the brand — an original part for an imported oven can cost EGP 2,000-3,000 on its own. Figures are approximate and vary by appliance type, age and condition; the technician quotes the exact price before starting, with no obligation.
My oven heats from below but won't brown on top — what is it?
In electric ovens: the top (grill) element is usually burnt out — we test it with a multimeter and replace it in the same visit if the part is on the van. In gas ovens: the upper grill burner isn't lighting or its ignition has failed. This fault is extremely common and frequently misdiagnosed — people replace the thermostat for nothing when the element is the problem.
Do you replace broken oven door glass?
Yes — we replace both the inner and outer door glass by brand and model. The inner glass must be original heat-resistant glass; we stock it for common brands and order rare ones within days. Important: never use an oven with cracked glass — the crack grows with heat and the panel can shatter.
How long does an oven repair take?
Inspection and measurement: 15-20 minutes. Common repairs (seal, bulb, element, ignition plug): 30 to 90 minutes in the same visit. Final temperature calibration adds 15 minutes since the oven must reach full heat. If a part isn't on the van, we order it and return at a fixed appointment within 3-7 days.
Can a faulty thermostat be repaired or must it be replaced?
Faulty thermostats usually have to be replaced — they cannot be repaired. But before we recommend replacement, the technician tests it to confirm it is the root cause. Many people swap the thermostat when the real fault is elsewhere.
Are oven spare parts original?
We offer two options: imported original (longer lead time, longer warranty) or high-quality compatible. The technician consults with you before ordering any part.
Is there a warranty on oven repair?
Yes — a 3-month to 1-year written warranty depending on the fault and the parts used. The warranty is documented on the tax invoice. If the same fault recurs in the warranty period, we fix it for free.
Do you repair Italian and German ovens?
Yes — that is our specialty. Italian ovens (Ariston, Zanussi, Smeg) and German (Bosch, Siemens, Miele) need specialist technicians, and we have a team trained specifically on these brands.
Do you service restaurant or bakery ovens?
Yes — we have a dedicated division for commercial and industrial ovens: pizza ovens, bakery ovens, large restaurant ovens. See the commercial services section.
If the oven is very old, is repair worth it?
An important question. The technician will tell you honestly if the oven is worth fixing or if a replacement is wiser. We show you the repair cost and the expected remaining life — the choice is yours.
