Auto-ignition not working (no "clicking")
If you press the knob and hear no clicking and see no spark, the problem is usually in the ignition system, not the whole stove. Ignition on Royal Gas runs through a small electrical transformer connected to the ignition electrodes. The common causes are four: no power reaching the stove, a burnt transformer, a crack in the white ceramic around the electrode leaking the spark, or electrodes left wet after cleaning. The technician measures the transformer and electrodes and pinpoints the cause — sometimes it's just cleaning and drying, sometimes a transformer replacement with a compatible part.
